The talented children from St Edward’s RC School in Lees secured a bronze prize and won £200 towards school funds thanks to success in a tough mental maths competition.
In November last year, 10ticks conducted a mental maths competition amongst primary schools in partnership with Liontrust.
The competition was a great success, and St Edward’s RC School displayed a fantastic account of their school and pupils by taking home the third place prize.
After an exciting two weeks of competition on 10ticks Mental Maths, St Edward's RC School's pupils correctly answered over 14,000 questions correctly.
The school won £200.
St Edward's teacher Laura Brooks said: “Children at St Edward’s really enjoy using 10ticks to help them improve their mental maths skills, particularly children in Key Stage 2.
"It can sometimes get quite competitive in our Year 5/6 classes.
"We are grateful to 10ticks for letting us enter into their competition and we are over the moon to have been awarded third place."
Many schools took part during two week November competition to battle it out on the top 10 leader board and reach the first, second and third prize winning places.
Managing Director of 10ticks, Ian Fisher, said: “It’s great to see the engagement in the Liontrust Mental Maths Competition and have lots of schools around the UK practice their mental arithmetic."
