Five arrested following separate motoring incidents in Waterhead and Chadderton

An uninsured driver has been arrested on suspicion of numerous motoring offences following a police pursuit which began in Waterhead.

A post on the GMP Oldham Central Facebook page today (Friday) read: "Officers on patrol in the Spring Street area of Waterhead saw a vehicle they believed acting suspiciously.

"It was requested to stop and failed to do so.

"After a brief pursuit the vehicle was contained and the driver, a 29-year-old male, was arrested on suspicion of drug possession, dangerous driving and other offences.

"The vehicle was also seized as uninsured."

Meanwhile, four males have been arrested following a car robbery incident in Chadderton.

A post on the GMP Chadderton page read: "Following a recent robbery and theft of motor vehicle last night in the Chadderton area, thanks to the assistance of the community, our Specialist Operations team have successfully recovered the victims' vehicle, still in Chadderton, and arrested four males in relation to the offence.

"They will remain in custody to be processed by our CID officers.

"The victim has been updated and we wish them a speedy recovery."
