Oldham East and Saddleworth MP Debbie Abrahams
Oldham East and Saddleworth MP Debbie Abrahams is hosting a ‘cost of living’ event in Oldham town centre next Thursday, December 8.
Ms Abrahams will aim to bring together organisations that can support and sign-post people struggling with the cost of living crisis to appropriate services.
Explaining why she has organised the event, Ms Abrahams said: “The purpose of this event is to bring together local support organisations and networks into one place so local people can get advice and support as easily as possible.
“Having these organisations under one roof means they will be able to help people on the spot, and also signpost them to where they can get the best support as quickly as possible.”
Organisations that will attend include:
First Choice Homes Oldham’s Community Impact team
Oldham Foodbank - who provide three days’ nutritiously balanced emergency food packages to people referred to them in crisis.
Oldham Council’s Welfare Rights Team - who provide support to constituents in accessing their full social welfare entitlement and can assist with completing forms
Get Oldham Working Team - helping local people identify work and training opportunities.
To register your interest to attend the event, and be sent the final details of where and when the event will take place, email your full name, address, and your concerns about meeting the cost of living to: abrahamsd@parliament.uk
