Derek and Bernadette Broadbent with daughter Annette
Proud Derek and Bernadette Broadbent of Godson St Oldham received a congratulations card from King Charles and King's Consort Camilla to celebrate their 7Oth Wedding Anniversary on 27th September.
Married in Mossley in 1952, Derek, 90, was a qualified baker and worked at ICI at Huddersfield for many years before he retired. Bernadette, 89, worked in a cotton mill and then for many years as a school cook at Derker nursery and Parish Church School, Oldham.
Pictured with her parents admiring the card is one of their children Annette Battye. She said: “They are both made up with the card — they’ve never stopped talking about it.”
