A unique Spooky Trail initiative has brought a bumper cash windfall for a village school.
Mega efforts by the Friends Of Diggle School, a registered charity, raised a remarkable £6,800, which directly benefits all the children at the school.
Speaking for FODS, Tracy Buckley said: “Huge thanks to everyone who came to our Spooky Trail in the last week.
"It has been great to see so many people, lots in fancy dress and all enjoying themselves.
“We would especially like to thank Grandpa Greene's Luxury Ice Cream, The Gate Inn, Diggle, and the Diggle Hotel for selling our trail sheets and handing out sweets, and all our fantastic volunteers for making the wonderful scarecrows.”
And she added: “Our main Scarecrow Trail will be back at Easter with the theme for next year being 'Music'...we can't wait to see you all again.”
