Date published: 21 September 2022

Looking for some great entertainment over the coming months?

Oldham Council’s live@thelibrary is back with a superb selection of shows and events for everyone to enjoy.

You can discover a world of comedy, drama, new writing, family theatre and storytelling – and it’s all on your doorstep.

From true Victorian crime with ‘Scotland Yard Investigates’ to psychological thriller ‘The Last Motel’, and an author talk with ‘Manc noir’ writer, David Nolan - there are lots of good shows lined up.

For those of you looking for something more lighthearted, there is wonderful comedian and poet Rob Barratt ready to entertain you.

To mark Black History Month in October it will be time to welcome the humourous and heartfelt story Grandad Anansi to the borough.

The ever-popular Small Cinema has some silver screen favourites lined up for the little ones.

They include Clifford the Big Red Dog and White Christmas.

The council round the season off with Oldham Theatre Workshop’s magical Christmas production, The Night The Frost Fell.

Councillor Elaine Taylor, Deputy Leader of Oldham Council and Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure, said: “Our staff have put together a great programme of events for the winter season of live@thelibrary.

“There is a little bit of something for all ages so I’d urge residents to check the listings and book their places.”

The events run from this month until December.

More information and tickets for all live@thelibrary events are available from: www.oldham.gov.uk/liveatthelibrary

Children under 12 months are free.

All accompanying adults must buy a ticket to attend children’s performances.
