Time running out to cash in energy rebate vouchers
Date published: 08 September 2022
Councillor Abdul Jabbar
Residents who received a Discretionary Council Tax Energy Rebate and Household Support Fund energy payment have just over a week left to cash their vouchers as they won’t be able to after September 15.
This Discretionary Energy Rebate Scheme is in addition to the core Council Tax Energy Rebate Scheme which all eligible households received and is to support households who receive Council Tax Reduction.
Councillor Abdul Jabbar, Cabinet Member for Finance and Low Carbon, said: “If you’re someone who received a Discretionary energy rebate voucher you need to act now whilst it’s still valid.
“If you were eligible for the payment it will have either gone straight into your bank account or if that wasn’t possible you will have received a voucher.
"If you’ve still got yours please do go and cash it as soon as you can as it’s your money to claim.
“If you don’t cash it, you won’t lose it but it will be refunded to your Council Tax account instead.”
