Oliver McNaught has truly scaled the heights
A seven-year-old boy from Lees has made sure his summer holiday break has been one he will never forget.
That's because Oliver McNaught, who attends Greenfield Primary School, scaled none other than the iconic Ben Nevis mountain!
Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the whole of the UK, standing at an impressive 1,345m tall.
Ben Nevis is located in the Lochaber area of the Scottish Highlands, close to the town of Fort William.
Oliver's proud mum Stacey said: "Oliver climbed his first mountain on Monday last week, and he made it a biggie - Ben Nevis!
"Despite my encouragement to start with something a little smaller, he was determined to climb the UK’s tallest and persuaded me to make my second journey to the summit to accompany him up.
"The motivation was pure and simply personal challenge.
"I have been climbing Munros (a selection of mountains over 3,000 feet in Scotland) for 18 months and he has been wanting to get involved.
"Prior to Ben Nevis, Oliver's hill walking had been limited to Pots and Pans, Indian’s Head and Alphin Pike, but he was determined to make it to the UK’s highest point for a photo!"
