Series of authentic props and costumes now introduced at Coronation Street The Tour

Guests of Coronation Street The Tour will now be treated to a surprise selection of props and costumes, as seen on screen, hidden behind the front door and lace curtain facades which line the famous cobbled street.
Bosses of the popular set tours at MediaCityUK noticed a pattern with many guests peering through the windows and having a nosey through the letterboxes during their visit, and so have decided to introduce a surprise treat behind the closed doors.
Some of the first props to be unveiled are attributed to much-loved characters of the show, past and present.
The new additions now include Eileen’s red telephone, which always lived in her hallway, Tyrone’s controversial baby scan from his pregnancy with Alina and the Rover’s Tea Towel, regularly adorning Sean’s shoulder, for guests to enjoy as an added bonus to their tour.
Steve Masters, General Manager at Coronation Street The Tour, said: “Authenticity on our tours is really important, and after we’d noticed this natural attraction from guests to peer through the doors and windows of the sets, we started to think about what extra treats could be in store to reward them for such curiosities!
“We work really closely with the production team and decided it would be nice to start introducing a series of props and costumes for guests to spy during their time with us, and we’re looking forward to seeing the reactions.”
The official tours of the external Coronation Street set at ITV re-opened earlier this year following a two-year hiatus and have already welcomed thousands of fans back to the cobbles.
Guests receive a guided tour for most of their experience, but now have the opportunity to roam Coronation Street at their leisure, where they’ll have the chance to spot the new props and costumes, as well as grabbing those all-important selfies.
Limited tickets are still available on select time slots up until the end of September, starting from £28 per adult (discounts available for children and families. Under 4s go free).
