Storm threat to Jubilee parties tomorrow
Date published: 04 June 2022
Today will see the best of the weather
Jubilee celebrations in Oldam could be affected tomorrow after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms.
The warning comes into effect at midnight and continues until 6pm tomorrow evening.
Huge swathes of England are covered by the yellow warning, including London and the south east, Wales, Yorkshire and parts of north west England, including Oldham.
Today (Saturday) gets the best of the weather for the bank holiday weekend, with bright sunshine for most of the day, although it will remain windy. Temperatures today will be around 18C.
Oldham should miss the worst of the weather tomorrow, but there is a higher risk of showers as we move through the day. Rain is particularly likely between 12pm and 4pm.
It will also feel colder on Sunday with temperatures likely to rise to around 14C.
Hundreds of street parties have been taking place in Oldham over the bank holiday weekend, and on Thursday, a torchlit procession kicked off the celebrations at Oldham Parish Church.
