You can drop items off at the point on Chew Valley Road on Saturday (31st Oct) between 10am and 3pm
Saddleworth Round Table and Oldham Foodbank Team have teamed up on Saturday in a bid touch the the heart of the generous-spirited locals.
From 10am to 3pm a dedicated team of tablers are holding a food drop off point at the dog training centre car park, opposite The Kingfisher, Greenfield.
And they are aiming to beat two previous drop offs held at The Kingfisher when the avalanche of donations blew Table away.
Mike Coulter of Table said: “In the last two drop offs we reached a total of 10,000 units which made a huge difference for our friends at Oldham Foodbank.
“This time we want to break the record from April’s and aim at more than 5000 of units in one day.“
The foodbank have specifically asked for tea, coffee, tinned fish, rice pudding, biscuits, crisps and instant pasta pots.
And If you want to help with the cause but are unable to come down to Greenfield on Saturday, you can donate via the Virtual Sata Dash page.
The event is being held from November 28 to the Saturday 5 December 2020.
Tickets for the dash are priced at £5 per adult and £3 per child and participants will receive a one-off medal, santa suit with a hat for an adult or a hat for a child.
Finally you can follow the link to make a one off donation to the foodbank, this will assist in the run up to what will be a very difficult xmas period for many households in Oldham.
John Arthurs, Round Table Chairman, said: “We have formed really strong links with two vital causes this year — the NHS key workers who have done an amazing job all year and Oldham Foodbank.
“So far we’ve raised over £10,000 plus thousands more in donations that will benefit the people in our borough.
“I would urge everyone who is able to come along on Saturday for a socially distanced foodbank drop off - it can be the difference for many people in our area.
‘We feel Marcus Rashford has really captured the mood, we CAN DO our bit by being a conduit between the people in our community who can help and those who really need help.”
