One person dies at an Oldham train station

It’s been confirmed that one person has died following an incident at Greenfield Station in Oldham on Tuesday evening (18th August).
Emergency services were called to the platform just after 5.30pm following reports of somebody being on the tracks.
Ambulance, Paramedics, officers from British Transport Police and the Air Ambulance all attended but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
British Transport Police have said they’re not treating the death as suspicious and have released the following statement:
“Officers were called to Greenfield at 5.34pm last night (18/08) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
