What could a local lockdown in Oldham look like?

Oldham could be heading towards a local lockdown
These are worrying times for all Oldhamers as the threat of a local lockdown hangs heavily over the town at present.
Whilst we don't know for sure what restrictions could be placed on the borough, when a similar scenario struck Leicester on June 30, numerous new restrictictions were re-imposed on local residents and businesses.
Those restrictions included:
- Non-essential shops that had reopened on June 15 were asked to close
- Bars, restaurants and hairdressers were asked to remain closed after they had planned to re-open again on July 4
- Schools may not re-open in early September, except to vulnerable children and children of key workers
- The ongoing relaxation of shielding measures would not take place
- People would still able to meet in a group of up to six and only outdoors, provided strict social distancing is followed
- People were recommended to stay at home as much as they can
- Council officials advised against all but essential travel to, from and within the city
Reviews of local restrictions take place every Thursday, and Government ministers are understood to be looking at Oldham, and the whole of Greater Manchester today (13th August).
