UCAN sees the Great British September Clean as a fantastic opportunity for it to continue its work in helping to keep Uppermill litter-free
Uppermill Community Action Network (UCAN) are back on track for the renamed Keep Britain Tidy September Clean.
The national campaign was postponed in the spring, but is now back and encouraging the public and businesses to help pick up litter between September 11 and 27.
UCAN sees the Great British September Clean as a fantastic opportunity for it to continue its work in helping to keep Uppermill litter-free.
While all UCAN group volunteering activity is still on hold by the Canal and River Trust (CRT), they expect some UCAN members to join the Great British September Clean around Uppermill, either individually or in groups of six people maximum in a socially distanced litter pick, strictly following the Government regulations and provided there is no change in Covid-19 regulations in the meantime.
UCAN, like everyone across Saddleworth villages, cherishes the wonderful countryside and always sees ongoing regular commitment to litter picking as vital work in maintaining the beautiful environment, protecting the wildlife and their habitats.
To take part in the Great British September Clean please see further details on the Keep Britain Tidy website.
UCAN are always pleased to welcome new members.
For anyone interested when they are able to resume their voluntary work, please contact Peter Killan on 01457 878361 or email: peterkillan@hotmail.com
