Dr Kershaw's Hospice in Royton
Dr Kershaw’s Hospice is hosting two drive-in donation days today (Thursday) and tomorrow (July 16 and 17).
The hospice’s drive-in donation days will take place at the Hospice between 10am and 2pm at Turf Lane Royton, in order for supporters to drop-off their donated goods quickly and safely.
The donation days, which are being co-ordinated by the hospice’s fundraising team, will see the car park transform into a drop-off zone for donations of clothing, books, dvd’s, bric-a-brac and toys.
The hospice will not be accepting donations of the following; buggies or prams, child’s car seats, cots, tv’s and old computers/printers.
For any larger furniture items, the hospice requests that members of the public contact Charlie from the Big White Charity Van on 0161 222 0808 to arrange collection of these items.
In order for the day to operate smoothly as possible, Dr Kershaw’s staff request that supporters ensure that bags are well-sealed, only one person to leave the car when donations are handed over and that donors follow instructions from the Dr Kershaw’s team upon arrival at the hospice car park.
"Due to the success of our previous donation days, we are delighted to be able to offer supporters two additional days to donate their goods," said Rebecca Bentham, Head of Income Development.
"The drive-in days will enable donations to be dropped off quickly, easily and safely.
"Plus there is no limit on how much you can donate.
"The hospice costs £3.6 million a year to keep our doors open, and our services free to patients both in the inpatient unit and within the community.
"By donating your unwanted goods, you are supporting the care of someone within your local community - for which we thank you."
