An entry from the trail earlier this year
The creative and ingenious scarecrows that graced Diggle as part of a visitors trail will not be seen this year.
After much deliberation, the organising committee have sadly decided to cancel this years scarecrow trail. Last year more than a thousand visitors called at the Saddleworth village but the events organising committee have deciced to shelve the plan.
Said a spokesperson: “It does not feel right in the current climate to be encouraging so many people to visit, when we still have a lot of people shielding.
“The scarecrow trail will be back next Easter all being well and we hope you will be able to visit us then and see our fabulous scarecrows!
“With all this extra time to perfect them, we are sure they will be even more amazing.
"Thank you for all your support and we hope you will have a chance to visit the trail next year in all its glory!“
