The Saddleworth Village Olympics committee have been forced to postpone this year's hugely popular event because of the coronavirus pandemic.
However, they have tried to minimalise the disappointment felt by so many by producing an uplifting, inspirational video message of hope.
You can watch the video (below).
A committee spokesperson said: "After much deliberation the Saddleworth Village Olympics Organising Committee have taken the unprecedented decision to postpone this year's event for the first time ever in its 35-year history.
“The team have prepared a short video, though, and will provide further updates as and when they become available."
