Dave Fairbrother walked tirelessly around the streets of Saddleworth for 36 solid days
It was when ice hockey fanatic Dave Fairbrother was bored at home after being furloughed from work that he struck on the idea of heading out on a mega walk in aid of a mental health project.
In the end Dave walked tirelessly around the streets of Saddleworth for 36 solid days, kitted out in full ice hockey gear, totalling 210 miles in all at a rate of almost six miles per day.
Dave's sterling efforts eventually raised a little under £500 for mental health awareness project www.patchamnesty.co.uk
Battle-hardened Dave is now doing one last walk on July 25, when members of the Manchester Storm ice hockey team are joining him, along with as many hockey fans in jerseys as he can muster, in line with all government guidelines of course.
Across the country, almost £11,000 has now been raised for the Patch Amnesty mental health charity project.
