In total up to this morning (Wednesday), 53 cases of coronavirus have now been confirmed across the UK.
The worrying increase in cases has led Boris Johnson's Government into releasing a 'battle plan' - a 27-page document that outlines their plan to tackle coronavirus in the UK.
Today, the Government has reiterated its hand hygiene message in its new public information campaign which focuses on handwashing.
The latest advice is to wash you hands more often, particularly when:
- you get to work or arrive home
- after you blow your nose, cough or sneeze
- before you eat or handle food
You should wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water or hand sanitiser.
The new campaign will appear in print media, on the radio, online and in public places.
