Activists protest on Cairo Mill building in Oldham

Emergency services remain at the scene
Emergency services are in attendance at a rooftop protest on top of the Cairo Mill building in Oldham.
Police were called to the building on Greenacres road this morning (Monday 1st July) just before 6:30am, to reports of the Rooftop protest.
The building known as Cairo Mill is understood to be home to the electronic manufacturer Ferranti Technologies.
Police and Fire Services remain at the scene.
In a statement, GMP (Greater Manchester Police) said, “Shortly before 6.30am on Monday 1 July 2019, police were called to reports that protestors were on the roof of a building on Greenacres Road in Oldham. Police and the Fire Service are in attendance as are specialist police negotiators. No arrests have been made."
