Petrol bomb leaves man injured in Oldham house

Detectives in Oldham have launched an investigation after a man walked into a property carrying a bottle filled with a flammable liquid, believed to be petrol, and threw it at a man inside.
Police were called to a premises on Oldham Road, Failsworth shortly before 2.30pm on Sunday (2nd June) following reports that a man, holding a drinks bottle filled with an unknown flammable liquid, had walked into the premises and lit the bottle before, throwing it toward a man inside.
The victim, a man in his 30s, received minor burns and was taken to hospital.
No arrests have been made.
Enquiries are ongoing.
There is not believed to be any wider threat to the local community.
Detective Inspector Joseph Harrop of Greater Manchester Police’s Oldham Division said: “This was a shocking incident that could easily have resulted in much more serious injury.
“We’re appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
“This attack took place in broad daylight on a main road. We’re hopeful there may be several potential witnesses or people who may have captured dash-cam footage.
“Anyone who can assist our enquiries should contact police immediately.”
