Mohammed Miah shows off his awards
Super chef Mohammed Lulu Miah couldn’t stop smiling after he won the hugely prestigious North West Chef of the Year prize at the 2018 Asian Curry Awards ceremony in London.
Mohammed beat off tough competition from 40 other entrants to win the coveted prize, which was presented at a ceremony at the plush Grosvenor House Hotel in the capital.
Mohammed said: “I was so excited, and surprised a little, but I’ve put so much hard work into winning this competition so I’m absolutely delighted.”
Mohammed has worked as a chef at the Aman Indian Restaurant on Oldham Road in Failsworth for 13 years.
His undoubted cooking talents have been recognised previously, however, as he was crowned Chef of the Year at the 2015 Curry Life Awards.
The Asian Curry Awards ‘honours excellence in the industry’.
Mohammed secured lots of nominations initially, before going on to win his award in London.
High-profile sponsors of this year’s presentation evening included Booker Wholesale and Just Eat.
Mohammed’s Aman Indian Restaurant is based at 476-478, Oldham Road.
