UPDATED: Woman dies following Ashton Road collision

A woman, aged 53, sustained serious injuries
Police are appealing for information following a serious collision in Oldham.
At around 11pm on Friday a woman got out of a stationary taxi and walked south along the A627 Ashton Road.
After crossing the road and reaching the opposite pavement close to junction with Hathershaw Lane, she strayed backwards into the northbound carriageway and was struck by a black Ford C-Max.
The woman, aged 53, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital, but she has now sadly died.
The driver of the car, a man aged 45 was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.
Police are appealing for information on the incident.
