POINT collects the cheque from Oldham College
A support officer at Oldham College has helped to raise £11,000 for various charities – including POINT in Oldham.
POINT supports children and young people with additional needs and disabilities and has more than 1,600 members.
They provide information, advice and support services for families who have children with special educational needs and disabilities.
Nicola Barker – who works with the Additional Learning Support team at Oldham College – is a member of the Mid Cheshire Independent Adjudicating Panel.
That’s a non-profit panel of judges with over 50 years of experience and they hold a charity day of dancing each year, with the proceeds going to charities nominated by members.
Nicola nominated POINT because of the work they do for students at Oldham College.
After the charity day in Southport, there was enough money to present 11 charities with £1,000 each – one of which was POINT.
POINT collected the cheque from Oldham College last week.
POINT employ 10 team members and have over 15 volunteers, all of whom are committed to deliver improved outcomes for children and young people, enabling them to reach their full potential and live ordinary and fulfilling lives.
