Would you like to see your alleyway transformed into a cleaner, greener community space and show you ‘Love Where You Live’?
If so then why not enter Oldham Council's new competition?
Council officials have teamed up with environmental charity Hubbub and the social enterprise IF Oldham to offer residents the chance to transform their alleyway by giving away items that are currently exhibited in the ‘Love Where You Live’ Inspiration Street installation in Manchester Chambers, in Oldham town centre.
By entering you could be in with a chance of brightening up your alley with flowers, planters and plants, for example.
Inspiration Street is open until the end of June if you want to go along and see it.
Alongside this, Oldham Council will look to support residents that enter the competition in transforming their alleyway, whether or not they win.
Anyone who enters will be contacted to discuss how we can support you and your neighbours to transform your alleyway.
Councillor Arooj Shah, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood Services, said: “Our residents are fed up with people fly-tipping and are rolling up their sleeves and getting stuck in.
“In response neighbours in communities across Oldham area coming together to improve and brighten up their own areas.
“We want to help people do their bit but this competition is a great way to help you kick start a transformation.
“We’d urge you to go along to the exhibition, get inspired and enter the competition.”
To enter the competition email: hello@hubbub.org.uk with the title ‘ALLEY APPLICATION’ in the subject box and you’ll receive an application form.
Once completed return the form to: rhiannon@hubbub.org.uk – and feel free to include any images/and or video to make your entry stand out from the crowd.
The deadline for entries is July 31.
