Dr Kershaw's benefits as new B&M store open its doors

Opening day at the new B&M store in the Spindles shopping centre was busy
As well as the discount retailer itself, both B&M's new store in Oldham town centre and Dr Kershaw's Hospice benefitted during opening day last Friday.
To mark the store opening, the new B&M colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they think truly deserves some VIP treatment for the work they do for the local community.
They chose Dr Kershaw's, and representatives took centre stage as they officially unveiled the new store, alongside the Mayor of Oldham, Cllr Shadab Qumer.
The charity aims to help people within the local community living with life-limiting illnesses by providing a range of services tailored to their needs.
They also support the family and dependents of patients who need bereavement support after their loved one has passed away.
In addition to opening the new store, the representatives also received £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for taking part.
The top half of the former BHS store has undergone an internal and external refurbishment programme and created 25 jobs for local people.
Store manager Lissa Berry said: “We’re feeling really positive about the creation of new jobs for local people and feedback from customers has been great so far.
“A big thank you to the team from Dr Kershaw’s Hospice who helped us open the store. We hope that our donation can help them continue the outstanding work they do for the local community.”
B&M is one of the UK’s fastest growing retailers and customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded products including toys, food & drink, home ware, pet products, health & beauty and seasonal ranges.
