Calling businesses with vans – Dr Kershaw's Hospice needs you

Date published: 30 October 2017

Dr Kershaw’s Hospice is holding its Christmas Tree Collection Appeal again this year which will see trees collected from across the borough on 13 and 14 January.

The hospice is partnering Just Helping whose back-office software provides route mapping when people book through the website to have their tree collected. They make a donation and their details are logged and later added to a route map.

Oldham Council is permitting use of several recycling sites across the borough, and will mulch the trees down and donate the mulch back for use in the hospice gardens.

Companies with vans/lorries/trailers are needed to help collect trees and drop them off at one of the recycling sites.

Just Helping’s software will ensure that collection routes are efficient and organised and because there are so many sites to take the trees to, the routes should be quite localised for each team.

A spokesperson for the hospice said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for us to work together, along with volunteers from our community, to raise funds for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice and help to ensure this precious place remains open for patients and their families.

"We know that we will get some excellent coverage in the local press combined with your own, will raise some priceless awareness for the Hospice and your own business.

"If you can spare even one van and two staff on just one of these two days, we would be eternally grateful (of course if you can provide more we’d be ecstatic)."
