Pennine Pen charity shop broken into

Date published: 12 October 2017

The Pennine Pen charity shop on Park Road was broken into on Thursday 28 September and a lot of damage was caused. A second theft occurred on 9 October at the Troughgate shop in Limeside.

A spokesperson for Pennine Pen Animal Rescue said: “We are distraught to learn that someone felt the need to yet again break into one of our charity shops. The damage they have caused is beyond belief.

“We work tirelessly to raise money for our animals, yet senseless individuals feel that they can take everything we work hard for.

“This is going to cost the rescue so much money to get fixed.

A police spokesperson said: "Police received a report at 7.50pm on Thursday 28 September to a report of a burglary at a shop on Park Road in Oldham. It doesn’t say that anything was stolen but window was smashed.

"No arrests made."

A second theft took place on Monday 9 October at the Troughgate shop in Limeside.

A spokesperson for the charity said: “Today, a man and woman stole a baby dining chair and three baby safety gates from our shop at 11 Troughgate in Limeside.

“We have contacted the Police and have very clear CCTV footage of the individuals, a copy of which will be passed to Greater Manchester Police.

“This is the second incident to have affected our shops in two weeks.”

“Please can we ask you to consider donating any items you can spare to help us recover the costs we are going to have to spend and the items that we have now lost.

"Thank you.”
