Ace Carina wins by fifteen shots!

Crompton and Royton women's captain Linda Haughton with Carina Teirney
TALENTED teenager Carina Teirney produced a stunning round for a fifteen-shot victory in Crompton and Royton's last major of the season, the Winterbottom Cup.
Despite four penalty shots in the round, the 15-year-old carded a two-over gross 74 for a nett total of 63.
That included an amazing start in which she had a birdie with her second ball at the first having lost her original tee shot to limit the damage to a bogey five and she recovered brilliantly to reach the turn in one under.
Carina, who had been cut from 12 to 11 after a junior competition earlier in the week, now reaches single figures for the first time after being cut further to nine - helping her status within the Lancashire and England set-ups.
Andrea Lowe was the distant runner up.
