MOSSLEY produced an incredible response to back-to-back heavy defeats - they won 5-0 at Prescot Cables in the Evo-Stik League Division One North.
After a humiliating FA Cup exit at Hallmark Security League minnows Ashton Athletic and a 4-0 home league drubbing by Brighouse Town, some alarm bells had started to ring at Seel Park.
However, the travelling fans went home happy on Saturday evening thanks to an emphatic victory for their team.
Kyle McGonigle and Mike Fish ensured Mossley were two clear at the interval.
Fish went on to complete a super hat-trick in the second period, while skipper Andy Keogh added a well-deserved fifth goal.
The rejuvenated Lilywhites face a tough away league encounter at Bamber Bridge tomorrow (7.45pm kick-off).
CHADDERTON were denied victory late on as they were held to a 1-1 home draw by Cheadle Town in the Hallmark Security League First Division.
Nick Alexander opened the scoring after 55 minutes and it looked as though Chaddy would hang on for maximum points.
But Thabiso Magida pounced with five minutes to go to earn the Stockport side a share of the spoils.
Chaddy's next game sees them travel to Widnes on Saturday in the Buildbase FA Vase second qualifying round.
