IT is amazing how a positive result can boost confidence levels.
After recording a first win of the season in the JW Lees Brewery Pennine Cricket League Championship seven days earlier, Oldham made it two on the trot at home to Shaw.
The damage was done by the Pollards club bowlers. The five used by skipper Rashid Hussain shared 10 wickets as the visitors succumbed to a pitiful 54 all out.
Oldham crossed the finishing line in the 13th over.
Anton Lucas-Jones continued his fine start at Friarmere by helping to lay the foundations in an emphatic 111-run defeat of Moorside at Turf Pit Lane.
The West Indian overseas amateur scored 60 in his side's total of 224. They were 155 for seven at one stage. Imran Khan took five for 50.
Moorside slumped to 109 all out, with only professional Grant Hodnett (37) and captain Danny Anchor (31) posting double-figure knocks.
PREVIOUS
After being blown away by a JR Campbell-inspired Heyside in their previous league outing, promotion-chasing Stayley got back on track with a comprehensive nine-wicket win over lowly Hollinwood.
Ali Muzaffar's 80 from 59 balls - the skipper hit 13 fours and two sixes - lifted Werneth to 194 all out at Micklehurst.
The home side slipped to 18 for three in reply, and despite a middle-order recovery which featured 47 from Jake Caudwell, they were eventually bowled out for 153 in the 40th over. Rashid Khan and pro Azam Hussain each took three wickets.
Paid man Rudi Second hit almost a run-a-ball 112, which included a dozen boundaries, as leaders Milnrow piled up 247 for eight against Uppermill at Ladyhouse. He was assisted by 65 from Fanje De Villiers.
Despite 66 from overseas amateur Girvacques De Jager, 'Mill were dismissed for 130 in reply.
