Wood-Davies is hot rod on Ram Lodge

ANGLING: ANTHONY Wood-Davies came out on top in round four of the Shaw Anglers winter league on Ram Lodge.

The Tight Lines Shaw rod opted for white maggot fished shallow on the pole and waggler for a

match-winning 7lb 11oz catch of chub, ide and roach. Runner-up Trevor Wilson (Tight Lines, Shaw) boasted chub on maggot at 10 metres in a 5lb 1oz net.

The final round has been re-arranged for Sunday, April 3.



THE latest Todmorden AS away match took place a hard Fir Tree Fishery, where Ian Ridgeway topped the weights with a paste-tempted 24lb 14oz of carp. Next-best Chris Lett employed identical

tactics for 24lb 8oz of carp. Rob McKendry (18lb 11oz) and Dave Williams (18lb 3oz) won their respective sections.



KEN Power, of Tri-Cast Highfield, won the Old Hough Farm open on Upper and Lower Benbo lakes.

He took 52lb of carp and skimmers on dobbed in bread at 16 metres and pellet down his peg at 11 metres. Runner-up Shaun Gallagher had a maggot-tempted 41lb 3oz of mostly carp.



I SECURED two placings on two totally different types of venue. Fishing on a rock-hard and patchy Martland Mill length of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, I claimed fourth in the Wigan AA Saturday open.

The winner, John Leeds, tipped on 8lb 8oz.

I bagged in the region of 60 roach on bread punch at seven metres to record 6lb 3oz 8drams and section victory.



With several of my Maver North-West teammates I headed to Otley for the final round of the Tom Ponds individual winter league. Winner John Mills had 51lb 7oz of trout and silvers taken mostly on pellet fished short. I managed a lake victory and second overall (39lb 7oz) with 40 trout and some silvers on single red maggot.



DAVE Chadwick, of Matrix Halifax, won the latest open on the Saltaire length of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. He had some big roach and a perch on bread punch, worm and caster for a 4lb 7oz bag.

Team-mate Paul Booth was the runner-up, with bread-punch tempting plenty of bits for 3lb 14oz.



THE latest Northern AA open on the Miners length of the Macclesfield Canal saw Steve Dunn claim top honours with 1lb 14oz of bread punch-taken small roach.

James Cantello (Tri-Cast Highfield) had 1lb 12oz of tiny ruffe and perch on worm down the track for

second place, with Dave Chadwick (Matrix Halifax) in third spot with another ruffe and perch catch on red worm and weighing in at 1lb 8oz.
