Band wants 110-per-cent effort

Non-league football: THERE will be no hint of complacency in the Mossley camp tomorrow as they travel to Evo-Stik League Division One North basement strugglers New Mills.
Lilywhites fans could be forgiven for believing three points are all-but guaranteed: the Church Lane outfit has only picked up one point from its 24 league games this season.
But there is no indication of that attitude from Mossley joint-boss Peter Band: “I certainly don’t want to be the first team to be beaten by New Mills,” stated Band. “We’ve got to go there and give it everything, as usual. When I was a player I gave 110 per cent and I expect my players to do that now.”
Full-strength Mossley could lift themselves to within a point of the play-off places if they do win tomorrow. Meanwhile, Band and Morrison have been busy in the transfer market this week, making two new signings and allowing one player to leave.
Combative midfielder Max Harrop (22) has been brought from Ramsbottom United, and Liam Baker (19) — a centre-back — has joined from Winsford United. Defender Kevin McGrath has left to join Ramsbottom.
CHADDERTON travel to fellow North-West Counties League First Division outfit Daisy Hill tomorrow.
Inconsistency is hindering Chaddy at present. They sit halfway down the form table having won three and lost three of their last six games.
