Lilywhites keep their fingers crossed

FOOTBALL: MOSSLEY’S run of inactivity could well be extended if the weather forecast for the North-East this weekend is accurate.

The Lilywhites, who haven’t played for a fortnight after washouts, are prepared for a similar outcome tomorrow at Spennymoor Town.

Mossley joint-boss Peter Band said: “We’re keeping our fingers crossed, but at this stage it doesn’t look particularly promising the game will go ahead. Snow has been forecast in that neck of the woods, so we’ll see.

“The good thing is that Spennymoor have to let us know what’s happening early in the morning because it’s a long trip. If the game is postponed we’ll contact the lads and get an afternoon training session organised.”

Band and Morrison are hoping tomorrow’s game will go ahead - they have a fully-fit side and postponement would mean a near-three-hour midweek journey to Spennymoor later.

CHADDERTON will be keen to get back to action after last weekend’s North-West Counties League First Division wash-out. Tomorrow the Broadway outfit hosts Eccleshall. Supporters can ring the club hotline before setting out – 07506 104005.
