Omens good for Mossley, says Band

Non-league: MOSSLEY joint-manager Peter Band is hoping history will repeat itself tomorrow as his injury and suspension-ravaged squad travels to Warrington Town.

Town is having a great Evo-Stik League Division One North campaign, currently second in the table.

But the Lilywhites have fared well at Warrington in recent years, as Band recalls.

He said: “We went to their place in similar circumstances last season. We had a few players out at the time and they were doing well in the cup, but we beat them.

“I think we beat them there in both the league and the FA Trophy. When we had them at our place earlier this season we should have beaten them too, to be honest. We lost 3-2, but were all over them at times and they punished our mistakes.”

Michael Thomas, Kyle McGonigle and skipper Andy Keogh will all be banned for the trip to Cheshire

following recent red cards. Talented right-back Lee Wilshaw also looks set to miss out through injury.

CHADDERTON have a great chance to make some progress up the North-West Counties League First Division table as they host Whitchurch Alport.

The visitors are currently second-bottom in the standings, having won once all season.

Chadderton are not much better off, though they did thump St Helens Town 6-3 in their last match, a Reusch First Division Cup-tie.
