Springhead slip up at Walshaw

FOOTBALL: IN one of the few FBT Manchester League games to survive the poor weather, Springhead lost their Premier Division clash 1-0 at Walshaw Sports.
Hollinwood’s reserves had a day to forget in the Manchester FA Amateur Cup, losing 13-2 at home against AFC Middleton. But Hollinwood ‘A’ saw off Walshaw Sports ‘A’ 4-2 to ease into the Bridgewater Cup semi-finals.
Ryan Hobin bagged a quickfire hat-trick inside the opening 10 minutes, before Michael Shepherd made it 4-0 ahead of two late replies.
All four local sides in the Premier Division are at home tomorrow. Avro play Old Altrinchamians at the Lancaster Club on Broadway, Springhead host Stockport Georgians at Ashfield Crescent, Uppermill take on Wythenshawe Amateurs at Churchill playing fields and Royton Town welcome AFC Monton to the Oldham Academy North.
