MOSSLEY halted a run of three Evo-Stik League Division One North defeats with a terrific 3-0 victory at fellow play-off chasers Lancaster City.
The Lilywhites were in control for the vast majority of the clash at a windswept Giant Axe, and went in front after just four minutes thanks to Kyle McGonigle’s smart finish.
Tom Dean doubled the advantage shortly after the restart, before McGonigle wrapped up a convincing win midway through the second half from the penalty spot.
The only sour note on an otherwise superb day for Mossley was the brandishing of another red card, this time for Michael Thomas.
The Lilywhites, who zoomed up to seventh place in the table thanks to this latest win, are back in action at home against Brighouse Town on Saturday.
CHADDERTON’S scheduled North-West Counties League First Division fixture at Ashton Town was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. Chaddy’s next game is away at St Helens Town tomorrow night (7.45pm) in the Reusch First Division Cup second round.
