HOLLINWOOD eased to a 30-0 home victory against Queensbury ‘A’ in Pennine League Division Three West.

Queensbury started the game positively, but missed two scoring chances before Hollinwood hit back with a try from Ashley Dixon, converted by Luke Skilling.

Soon after, Dixon went in for his second try, which was again converted by Skilling.

Hollinwood were playing their best rugby of the season so far, despite the atrocious conditions.

Next it was the turn of Skilling to cross for a converted try, taking the score to 18-0, before Cameron Claire crossed for the next score.

Skilling again added the extras to make it 24-0 at the interval.

In the second half, the visitors again went close, but Hollinwood tackled well to keep them out.

Dixon then went over to register his hat-trick of tries and Skilling kicked the conversion to maintain his 100-per-cent record.

The man-of-the-match award was shared between Dixon and McCullough, but it could have gone to any one of the 17 Hollinwood players.

Hollinwood moved up to sixth place in the standings following this result.

In the same division, Higginshaw remained in third place courtesy of a 30-0 walk-over victory against Emley Moor.
