Date published: 02 November 2015
MOSSLEY’S FA Trophy hopes were dashed for another season when they lost 3-2 at Evo-Stik League Premier Division high-fliers Darlington 1883.
The Lilywhites shocked the hosts when they took the lead in the 19th minute with Tom Pratt’s strike.
But the scores were level at half time as Adam Nowakowski replied.
Lewis Walton fired Darlo in front for the first time just past the hour mark, only for Sam Robinson to quickly make it 2-2.
The Lilywhites’ Trophy tilt was ended when Darlo sub Nathan Cartman slotted home from the penalty spot with just 12 minutes to go.
Mossley return to league action on Saturday with a home match against Radcliffe Borough.
Meanwhile, Mossley snapped up pacy Nigeria-born midfielder Godwin Abadaki from Ashton United on Friday. He made the trip to Darlington a day later and came on as a second-half substitute.
CHADDERTON’S dio in form in the North-West Counties League First Division continued with a 3-1 defeat at Atherton LR.
An own-goal levelled matters after Nial Callaghan’s early strike for Atherton.
The hosts sealed victory with further goals from Daniel Kerr and Moses Yoak in the second half.
Chaddy’s next fixture is away at St Helens Town on Saturday.
