Andy Kremner: up for the challenge
BOXING: ANDY Kremner remains confident he’ll make a big statement in his sixth professional fight this weekend despite a late change of opponent.
Delph welterweight hopeful Kremner (23) will fight Driffield’s Danny ‘Lethal’ Little at Trafford Park after the withdrawal of original opponent Taz Apergis.
It’s a blow for Kremner, who was desperate to end Wythenshawe battler Apergis’s unblemished record, but in Little, he now faces arguably a tougher opponent, at a higher weight.
‘Krem de la Krem’ said: “We did have an inkling that Apergis was going to pull out to be honest.
“It has upset my preparations a little bit because I’d been training for a southpaw and now I’m also having to fight up a weight at 10 stone, 10 pounds.
“I’m not too mithered, though. I took the Little fight straight away when I was asked, though it is going to be a step up for me again. If I just concentrate on myself and producing what I know I’m capable of, I’ll be okay.”
Little (30) won three of his first four bouts as a pro but has lost 11 in a row since.
