Saddleworth rider captures climb crown

CYCLING:
THE autumn cycle hill-climb season got off to a fine start when Saddleworth Clarion won with an incredible ride of eight minutes three seconds by Kieran Manchester — a full 45 seconds ahead of the nearest rider.
Blackstone Edge was the venue for the National Clarion Hill Climb Championship, an event where all Clarion sections pit themselves against each other
Saddleworth Clarion was well representedat the event, this year organised by Bury Clarion and held over a 1.8-mile course.
A superb day for Saddleworth saw the team take away the national team prize, thanks to the effort of Simon Cullen and Matthew Cheetham.
Manchester said: “I’ve had a good season, especially after winning the Beard Cup hill climb. This is my final event of 2015 and to win a national prize is pretty special.
“It was great to help Saddleworth take away the team prize as well”.
