FOOTBALL;
MOSSLEY are up to 10th place in the Evo-Stik League Division One North table after an eye-catching 2-0 victory at Scarborough Athletic.
The Lilywhites’ third straight victory came courtesy of first-half strikes from Mike Fish and Dave Short.
Mossley return to action on Saturday with a home clash against a Bamber Bridge side who knocked them out of the FA Cup earlier in the season.
Meanwhile, the Lilywhites have secured a kind draw in the quarter-finals of the Manchester Premier Cup competition. The current holders will entertain Irlam in the last eight, during the week starting November 16.
CHADDERTON’S good recent run of form in the North-West Counties League First Division was checked by St Helens Town, who came from behind to win 3-1.
Striker Niall Sultan had handed Chaddy the lead at the half-time interval. But goals from Andy Gillespie, Marcus Perry and Declan Gregson made sure the points went to the hosts.
Chaddy host Bacup Borough on Saturday.
