WORLD number one Michael van Gerwen spearheads a line-up featuring some of the finest darts professionals in the world, all of whom will appear at the Queen Elizabeth Hall.
Dutch master Van Gerwen takes to the ockey for the I Barrick Scaffolding Night of Champions on Friday, December 11.
Also showcasing their talents on the night are former BDO World Champion Mark Webster, PDC European Championship winner Simon Whitlock, Premier League star Kim Huybrechts and other top talent, including Vincent van der Voort, John Henderson, Darryl Fitton, Tony O’Shea, Mark McGeeney and the legendary Bobby George.
Van Gerwen, who has become the best player in the world in recent years, spoke of his excitement at competing in the event — the first of its kind in Oldham.
“I’m really looking forward to it,” said the former Premier League and World Champion.
“It is a fantastic line-up and it is somewhere I’ve never played before, but I am told that they are good darts fans in the area so it should be a great atmosphere too, especially with it
happening just before Christmas.
“For the fans, it is the perfect time for a Christmas party and for us players it will be a big night in our preparation for the World Championship.
“That is the time of year where we all want to reach our best.
“We will all want to win and so it should be a fantastic evening of darts.”
