FOOTBALL: ASHLEY Ainsworth bagged a super hat-trick as early-season leaders Fitton Hill romped to a shock 8-2 win at champions Rifle in the Oldham Sunday League Jack Abbott Premier Division.
Completing the victors’ tally were Callum Franklin, Kane Radcliffe, Roy Radcliffe, Kion Price and a Mark Hope own-goal. Nathan Eastmond and J Shaw scored for Rifle.
Yasir Ali, Muzzafer Ali and Azuka Otutu netted for Coppice United as they saw off Oldham GPO 3-0.
Farhad Chowdhury (two) and Moklisur Rahman were on the mark for Westwood in a 3-1 victory against Crown. Corey Eastmond replied.
In the President’s Trophy, Limeside King George crushed Carrion Crow 9-1 thanks to goals from Jermaine Steele (three), Tom Creally (two), Tom Heap (two), Andre Stafford and Joe Heap.
Ste Palfreyman fired in Carrion’s consolation.
Manchester Swifts secured an impressive 5-2 win at Legends of Lees to go top of David Giblin Division One. S Schofield (two), D Goodier (two) and D Robson netted for the Swifts, with David Laryea and L Stephenson replying.
Royton Athletic edged out Old Skool 6-5 as Barclay and Hitchins both scored hat-tricks. Mahmood (three) and Hussain (two) replied for Old Skool.
Top House roared to the top of Martin Buckley Division Two thanks to a crushing 12-2 win at Oldham XI.
On the mark were Craig Wilkinson (two), Matty Crothers (two), Billy Dempsey (two), Martin Gurr, Chris Ollerton, Alan Beckett, Charlie Burton, Clayton Palmer and Jack Warburton. Tom Breza scored both Oldham XI’s goals.
Luke Fletcher (two), Rocky Siddall (two), Jordan Howarth and Robert Quinlan registered for Heyrod in a 6-2 success at Dog and Partridge, for whom Tom Bee and Terry Devaney replied.
Jordan Hall scored both for Britannia as they prevailed 2-1 at Horseshoe. Andy Benson replied.
