FOOTBALL: THERE were goals a plenty in round one of the Oldham Sunday League President’s Trophy.
Schofield led the way for Manchester Swifts with six goals in an 11-1 hammering of Dog and Partridge. Whitehouse (three), Goodier and Robson completed the victors’ tally.
High Crompton Victoria also hit double figures, thumping Royton CC 10-3.
Mike King scored a hat-trick as Oldham GPO edged out Westwood 4-3.
Dave Hodgkins netted five times for Legends of Lees in a 6-2 triumph at Chaddy Cot.
Chris Taylor (three), Mike Casson (two) and Lewis Jones scored for Oddies 14 in a 6-2 win at Britannia.
Sheldon Young (three), Kieran Glynn (two) and David Riley registered for White House in a 6-1 triumph at Old Skool.
Callum Franklin was another treble hero, this time for Fitton Hill as they beat Oldham Lions 7-1.
Muzaffar Ali (two), Naveed Butt and Mehdi Ali were on the mark for Coppice United as they eased to a 4-0 win against Alt Athletic.
In the Manchester County Shield, Limeside King George progressed thanks to a 5-1 victory at Manchester Rovers.
