WARRINGTON TEST: Mossley joint-manager Peter Band.
Non-league football: Mossley joint-bosses Peter Band and Lloyd Morrison are moving into the transfer market to shore up a team affected by injuries.
The Lilywhites made a hugely encouraging start to the Evo-Stik League Division One North season but over the past 10 days have lost at Kendal Town and Harrogate Railway Athletic, and been dumped out of the FA Cup by Bamber Bridge.
Lee Wilson, Kyle McGonigle, John Bennett, Mitchell Bryant, Dave Short and goalkeeper Will Jones have been unavailable through injuries, while Caldon Henson and Tom Dean have been away on holiday.
Ahead of tomorrow’s home fixture against Warrington Town, Henson is available again, while Wilson trained last night and is also set to return.
“We’ve put in seven days notice of approach for a couple of players,” said Band. “Hopefully we’ll get some news back in time for the Warrington game. We’ve been through a horrendous run of unavailability and it has taken its toll.
“Thankfully we’ve no midweek game next week so that will give some of the lads the chance to have a bit of a break. We’ve had the injuries to contend with, but individual errors have also proved costly.
“We’ve had some bad luck, but we could do with bouncing back with a good result against Warrington.”
Long-term injury absentee Dougie Carroll is hoping to return to training next week.
CHADDERTON head North to Holker Old Boys boosted by their recent good form. Chaddy, under the guidance of joint-bosses Steve Patterson and Mark Cook, are currently unbeaten in five games.
