Beech toughs it out at Oulton

MOTORCYCLE RACING: TROUBLED by wheel spin and falling riders, Ashley Beech had to settle for 16th place in round 10 of the National Superstock Championship at Oulton Park.
This was the Moorside ace’s first visit to the 2.6-mile Cheshire circuit this year - he missed the other round at the venue because of injury.
First practice took place in dry and warm conditions and Beech, riding his Kawasaki ZX-10R, was sixth fastest despite handling problems.
After suspension adjustments lap times improved but his final flying qialification lap was spoiled by two slower riders. Beech qualified 16th but continued to suffer suspension problems.
A great start was ruined when three riders crashed at the first corner, allowing the leading group to pull away.
Beech battled hard but couldn’t manage to improve on his starting position.
Round 11 is at Silverstone in four weeks’ time.
