Late strike mere consolation

FOOTBALL: MOSSLEY followed their midweek FA Cup exit with a 3-1 Evo-Stik League Division One North defeat at Kendal Town.
A Ryan Marley own-goal and two strikes from Jordan Connerton handed Kendal a commanding 3-0 lead before the hour was up. Sub Dave Short bagged a late consolation goal for the Lilywhites.
Mossley are back in action tonight as they travel to Harrogate Railway Athletic (7.45pm kick-off).
TWO penalties inside a minute were the main highlight of CHADDERTON’S North-West Counties League First Division fixture at Eccleshall.
After a goalless first half, Eccleshall took the lead from the spot in the 58th minute thanks to Jimmy Gartside. But Chaddy struck back 60 seconds later as James Curley’s converted penalty-kick ensured the game ended 1-1.
Chaddy remain in 10th place in the table after extending their unbeaten run to four games.
They are in action tomorrow night with a home gane against Rochdale Town (7.45pm kick-off).
