RUGBY: CRAIG Farrimond aims to make it three man of the match awards in a row tomorrow when the player-coach pulls on his boots again for Saddleworth Rangers.

The veteran forward has given the Greenfield club a boost by confirming he will be staying on for next season.

“I owe it to chairman Shane Wilson to stay on, and that is what I will be doing,” said Farrimond (32), ahead of the side’s home game against Hunslet Warriors. “I’m fully committed and I know we have a great set of lads here.”

While former Warrington and Oldham RL man Farrimond has been in good form on the field, he has familiar selection problems ahead of the Warriors clash.

Influential captain Ethan Langhorn is unavailable, as is fellow half-back Ben Whitehead. Farrimond’s assistant Dave Newton won’t feature on the field tomorrow, with his expertise required on the sidelines. Rangers are bottom of the division with four points from 19 games.

In Division Two, Oldham St Anne’s travel to face Blackbrook. Saints will hope to arrest a run of eight defeats, the last of which was a 48-0 drubbing by top of the table Millom.

Waterhead face a long trek to play Gateshead Storm in Division Three. Dave Orwell’s side, fourth-bottom of the table, have the chance to pull closer to sides above them by seeing off a Storm outfit who have won only three times this season.
