ANGLING:
CHADDERTON’S Mick Tighe won the Medlock Bridge open on the Park Lake as his banded pellet and method feeder tactics worked superbly.
He weighed in 23lb 7oz of f1s and skimmers and almost doubled the weight of the next angler, Mick Molloy, with his 12lb 13oz catch.
Section winners were Pete Cuniffe, with 9lb 12oz of mostly f1s taken on pellet, and John Lees (Gilders), with his 8lb 10oz catch falling to the tip.
Paul Cuniffe was the winner of the Monday evening Medlock Bridge match, with his 12lb 12oz net including f1s and skimmers that beat Tom Brownbill into second place with 9lb 8oz
PETE Cuniffe easily won the Twingates AC OAPs match on the club water with his 21lb 2oz catch, made up of small carp and plenty of silvers that fell to hemp and caster fished short and long.
Tony Simcock (Tight Lines, Shaw) was next with 12lb 14oz of silvers that felt to pole and maggot.
He was followed by George White with 12lb 11oz and Geoff Carr’s 8lb 1oz net.
STEVE Baines is dominating the Twingate AC Tuesday evening series on the club water as he once again topped proceedings as his maggot fished up in the water tempted 20lb 11oz of skimmers, roach and ide.
Geoff Ogden (Tight Lines) was second with a similar approach catching him 15lb 2oz of carp and skimmers.
DAVE Machin is bang on form and won yet another of the Diggle AC Tuesday evening matches on Tanner’s Dam. He took a level 20lb of silvers on short and long pole, with maggot on the hook.
Terry Quinlan took second place as his pole and corn approach tempted a 4lb carp and plenty of skimmers for him to finish with 17lb 5oz.
TUESDAY’S Todmorden AS members-only match on Townhouse saw Danny Keenan take first place with 57lb 15oz of pellet waggler-tempted carp. Steve Hall was second with another carp net also taken on pellet waggler and weighing 48lb 2oz.
REMEMBER that SADAS has changed the dates of a few matches. The match on July 12 has been brought forward to June 28, while the match on September 13 has been moved to July 26.
